Should I indulge but exercise? I'm only a teenager?

I'm 14 and they say teens should eat more because they are growing.. but i really want to lose weight, i used to have salads but apparently that's not enough so i've started to eat sandwiches, is this bad? will i gain weight?
should i eat more to reach 1000 calories a day but go for jogs and walks, will i lose more weight as i would have a better metabolism and would be eating more at lunch, and less bingeing after school?
