...the solenoid needs replaced.? I have a 98 Civic LX. I have to use a key to shift the car into any gear from park. It also has an occasional minor slip between 3rd and 4th gear. When I turn on the car the D4 is also lit on the dash. It slips harder when going up the hill and pushing hard on the gas. I've talked to two different guys at Honda and they both gave me very different responses. It'll set me back $95 for them to look and figure out what's wrong with it (diagnose). I live with two men who are familiar with Honda Civics and are changing out an Accord tranny. Not exactly sure what I should do next since I don't have any money. My plan right now is to drive it until it doesn't work but if there is a cheaper alternative to paying 3500 for new tranny, if thats the problem, I would love to hear it.
