Should I go out with this COP I met yesterday?

Well, I had tons of groceries and it was mid-night I didn't feel really safe because everyone basically disappeared, in the store of course. And there was hardly anyone really, (I don't know why I went shopping that early...I don't recommend it.) Anyways I asked this cop near by if he would walk me to my car he said yes and we started walking. It wasn't a long walk cause at night or even in the day time, but especially at night I always park in front, or I turn back around if theres not a parking space. Anyways we started talking and he helped me put my bags in the trunk. When we were done he complimented me on my looks, but said it was stupid for me to shop at night, which I agree. He then lectured me on safety, and uh, bragged about the arrests that took place yesterday. Lol, it looked like he was nervous and I found him to be really cute when he's nervous, so I started flirting with him, he looked a little shocked and nervous, he then said "You know we're talking like idiots about pointless shit, at night where I could easily be jumped by a few guys. So before that happens and you decide I'm not fit to protect you, I was wondering if you wanted to go out for dinner?" I said I'll think about it and gave him my number. Anyways should I go out with him? He seems like a gentlemen.
