Right now I am only a sophomore in high school. But I'm in our Army JROTC program. I play a big role as I am a color guard commander and an avid member of the drill team. I am also on staff as an S-3 assistant. I have good grades (A's and B's in all honors classes). I am also in the band where I am an officer. I want to go to college and study medicine. I want to be a pharmacist. But here is where I have reached a dilemma. If I went to college and then joined the military as an officer I would receive money to pay for college and that's good. But I'm not sure if that is what I should do. My family doesn't have enough money to pay for college for me but I want to go to a good college or university so I must depend on other scholarships. I know people in all different branches of the military some hate it and some don't. I am worried that I will make the wrong decision. Please help me by telling me what you would do or giving me pro's and con's of the military and of college. Thank you.
