Should I get the new 2010 Mazda 3?

My car just recently got totaled - it was a 2007 Mazda 3. I loved it except for the fact that I had to get it fixed 3 times within 2 years. My friend also owns a 2007 Mazda (CX-7) and said he has had to get it fixed a few times as well. I'm looking for a new car and although I love the Mazda 3, I'm hesitant to buy a new one because of all the problems I had with my previous one. If not the new Mazda 3, any suggestions for another car of equivalence? I don't really want a corolla or a civic...thanks! =)
