Should I get my knee checked out?

So, about 6 months ago i REALLY hurt my knee. I think it was some minor ligament damage, because i couldn't walk for about a week. When i started walking again, it hurt like HELL. But, stupid me... decided to go back to playing ringette (ice sport... where i originally injured the knee) and every time i fell, it felt like my knee had just gone back to square one (intense pain like when i first injured it). So, i never gave it a chance to heal, because every game, it would start hurting really badly all over again.

now, six months later it doesn't bother me much. But i can't kneel without getting a really bad gabbing pain, and I can't run long distances, or do certain exercises that require a lot of knee movement without being in pretty bad pain.

i'm only 15, so it's not like a joint problem older people get naturally.

But it's kind of annoying, because i can't get through a gym class without my knee hurting.

Should i get it checked out (i never did at first because my parents thought i was just exaggerating and refused to take me to a clinic)

but now that it has gone on for so long, should i get it examined..?
