You may want to think about a scooter. 150's cruise at about 35-40, top speed around 50-55. Many have a plate on the back that you can mount a milk crate or similar carrier to. A plastic "Action Packer" w/rubber tie-down to keep the lid on, works for me. The bike is very economical, cheap to insure, fast enough to get you there without everyone smelling your sweat in class if you took a bicycle. Have a snowsuit & balaclava, helmet & good socks/gloves for your ride, a rainsuit, you're all set.

i am going to commute to my college which is ruffly 20 min drive. now, my car died ( may it RIP) and i was thinking to either to buy a motorcycle or take the bicycle. i live in Baltimore city so it can get cold and icy during winter.
now i can't use both. it is either the bicycle or motorcycle. i can take the bus but i really hate the bus; would only take it during winter...

bicycle. for 3 reasons
1) it is eco friendly.
2) u do exercise while going to collage/
3) u save money, most important in the present recession

take the bus, save yourself motorcycle maintenance and parking and all that crap. Bicycle would be good for ur legs and cardio health though. But your hands would freeze in the winter, then take the bus. Why can't you figure this stuff out for yourself? why are you on yahoo asking internet people for advice on your life? some of the worlds dumbest people are on the internet. You being one of them....."ruffly"? C'mon this thing has spell checker,

a 20 minute drive is going to mean its approx 10 miles or so. On a bicycle you would have to factor in travel time assuming that you have an average speed of 10 mph it would take you an hour by bike. Do you have an hour to spare? I'd suggest if it is in the budget to scour craigslist for a smaller motorcycle to use as your commuter as it will have lower insurance and be affordable (2k$ or less)
