Should I get highlights? If so, what color?

I'm going into high school next year and as I said I'm bored with my hair and want to do something different. Im thinking about getting high lights, maybe colored ones, but I dont want them to look cheesey. If it helps I have a rocker taste and style, and I know I dont look like the stereotypical "rocker chick" but I don't care, because appearance doesnt describe who you are. I dont want to look like a poser either. Also, I dont do pink.

So what color(s) do you think would work with my hair? I guess I'm open to anything really (well besides pink).
