Should I get genetic testing after 2 miscarriages?

Hi everybody. I really hope someone can help me out with this. I have had two early miscarriages in the past 6 months. My first pregnancy resulted in the birth of a healthy baby boy, then 1 year later came the 2 miscarriages. My doctor is not worried and acts like it's no big deal, just "bad luck." My mom and some other family members however are freaking out and now think there may be something genetically wrong with either my husband or me. My mom is insisting we get our chromosomes tested, she even offered to pay for it. Now I am afraid to try again for another pregnancy, not only because I don't want to go through another possible miscarriage but I also don't want to risk having a baby that is not healthy. Has anybody else been in this type of situation? All answers are appreciated!

I had two miscarriages in a months time before my first made it to term. I then had another baby. Both these children were healthy. Then I was pregnant with my third baby who had a chromosome disorder(T13). He did not live long after his birth :-(
I dont know if my previous miscarriages meant those babies had a condition or not, but you made me think, maybe it would be wise to get tested, the money is there, why not? It also helps to know these things, to be prepared.

Miscarriages are a lot more common than people think, don't panic especially since you've already had a healthy baby. Just make sure you give your body enough time to heal before trying again. I had back to back miscarriages before I had my daughter, turns out I had some kind of antibody in my blood that is often found in women who have miscarried and all I needed to do was take 1 baby aspirin everyday while I was pregnant to prevent another miscarriage. Ask your doctor, maybe this simple solution will work for you too!
