Should I get Cadillac Catera 1998 or Malibu 1998?

I was so set on buying a 1998 Cadillac Catera(costs 4000$), but I herd from a friend that Cadillac has lots of problems and frequently needs maintenance. I then have a second choice of malibu sedan which is also 1998(costs 3000$)
 
I've built the 3.0 cadillac catera motor. It's made by someone for cadillac, I wasn't impressed I'd hate to see what an inexperianced tech could cost you trying to work on it. The PCV valve is a $125 part, and there is at least one tech out there who can't diagnose one of them.
