Hi i have a 1994 honda accord lx coupe and it has 140,000 miles on it. I have owned it for 3 years and dont know if the previous owners ever had it done. the problem is it seems my car is loosing power on it and honda dealership said it needs to be done. my timing belt and waterpump was checked and they where fine. everything else in the vehicle is fine. i heard its not good to have a transmission flush done on older cars. Just wanted to see if that is true. thank you for your time : )

i defintly wouldent get it flushed . you will do more harm then good trust me ! you could drop the pan change the filter and fluid . but if it has that meny miles do not ever ever flush the fluid unless your sure its ben flushed every 30,000 miles .

Instead of a transmission flush, you could get a " transmission pan service" in which they remove the pan, replace the filter and fluid. That's a safer alternative in case your transmission hasn't been serviced regularly.
