My wife just left, and wants to get full custody of my 7 year old. I won't fight for full custody because I am told the court costs would costs between 10,000-20,000+ and nethier of us could afford that. I make about 45K a year, and she doesn't have a job and is living at her parents while seeing another guy at least once per day, that lives 30 minutes from her parents. She wants to relocate to 2-3 hours away, and while it F-in blows and drives me insane, the only thing I could do is get a lawyer, go into massive debt, and place my daughter in a horrible custody battle.
I talked to a lawyer about my optins and it sucks. To even get the divorce filed with custody paperwork, and child support set up, it would cost 3500$.
Do I need to have a lawyer, or is this something I can do myself>? Suggestions, comments, helpful websites? Also, we are 25,, married for 6 years, no property, we each own our own car, and I have to travel 1/3 months over night, and only able to come back on weekends. She's a selfish a--hole who doesn't know how to balance the checkbook.
