I have been wanting a horse for AS LONG as I can remember!! I have a nearly 13 acre piece of land I could put fencing on but my Grandmother wants to use it to hold Goats, would a horse be mean around Goats? I go over near where the acreage is every Friday and every other Weekend but I am going to be going over there MUCH more often in about 3-6 months! I am going to need a horse that wears shoes but can go barefoot when needed! I would be willing to spend $180-$300 on the horse but I could go to $500 if need be...my uncle had a horse trailer we could transport ANY livestock in so it wouldnt be a problem! I know we could easily get supplies from a family member, should I get a horse? I have taken VARIOUS riding lessons in the past and might take some more soon! I have ridden both English & Western but prefer Western! Please comment telling If I should even get one and if so what kind I should get, I'm 15, 16 in August. Im currently 5'7" so I would need a rather large horse! Thanks to all who comment! God Bless you ALL!
