Should I get a community college education or join the army?

I have a modified diploma and a terrible GPA. That being said, University's cannot except me because of my modified diploma and will not except me because of my GPA. So if I wanted to continue my education I would have to go to a community college. Recently I have been looking at different options such as the military, Specifically the army. I spoke with a recruiter and he said that they would enlist me if I get a semester credit of college which has to be a 100 series course. (welding etc.) I guess my question is, which option would be more enjoyable? which option will be worth my time? I want to make something of myself and my goal is to see the world and travel. But I feel like a community college education will just give me a dead end job and i'll be working for papa Murphies just like everyone else my age. On the other hand 4 years of my life committed towards the military is a long time that I cannot get back. I'm a senior in high school and will be graduating this year and I've been tearing my brain apart to make up my mind. Anything will help, thanks!
