Should I feel bad that my brother-in-law cut off his R middle finger while

cutting my lawn? my brother-in-law came over and mowed my lawn and said he would be back the following day to edge. I told him not worry about it and that what he had done was more than enough. It really was. I knew it was hot out and that he had studying to do for his school. He was
just doing me a favor since my husband was away at military drill and I didn't get around to it since it was just me and the baby. The next day my sister and told me that my brother-in-law had cut
his middle finger off! I felt horrible. Why did he begin mowing again? I think he was being a perfectionist. They ended up cutting off more of his middle finger to make it an even cut, it was cut below the middle finger knuckle and a little of his other fingers (ring and pinkie) were severed too. I shouldn't feel to blame, but I just can't get
over the guilt I feel for having it be something that he was doing for my family. We feel like he might hold it against us later. I just pray that he can heal and pursue his career AC/Heating mechanic plan.
I pray for him to have courage and bravery for his healing process. I pray that he forgives himself and forgives us. I would trade my finger just to get his back...
The issue is being investigated by the insurance company to see if it was our mower or his negligence...either way this sucks!
 
Don't feel bad he didn't have to cut the lawn for you. If I were you I would just try to laugh it off I'm pretty sure that if I my brother-in-law cut off his finger mowing my lawn he would want me to laugh it off.
