Should I experience the whole "college experience"?

Hey all. I'm currently in the second semester at a community college and I've come to a fork in the road. I'm wondering if I should transfer to a university or pursue a career in the workforce. I've been seriously contemplating a career as a police officer, and in my state one was does not require a college degree to do so. I've heard many great things about the "college experience," but I believe I wouldn't be as enthusiastic as everyone else about it. I do like to be meet and socialize with others, but the partying and other things I am not so interested in. What I really want to do is start a family and be a father as soon as I can, but I many people have been telling me that I'll be missing out if I don't experience dorm life at a university. I want a career where I am helping others and making the world a better place, so the police officer role would perfectly complement that. All of the degrees that I am interested in would most likely give me a hard time finding employment. Those subject areas would most likely require me to pursue graduate school education, but I personally don't want to be in school that long; I would like to be a parent and a husband as soon as I possibly can. For me, the sooner I have a family the better, but by not going to college and not experiencing that "life," would I be missing out on something? This is also extremely tricky because of the cost of living in the dorms, not to mention the costs of receiving the actual education. I would like to draw on the experiences of those who went to college and/or are now parents/husbands or anyone who has observed such experiences. Do you regret not going to college? Do you wish you would have had children sooner? How enjoyable was your college experience? Questions such as those are what I'm getting at. Any information would be extremely appreciated. Thank you.
