Should I expect more of my wife and her 100k education, than her just working as

bar tender until 3 am? Why bother with college, if your going to be a bartender your whole life.
 
I understand you expecting more from her, but you got to think of the economy, also some women just prefer it, it's a fun job, also some bartenders make mad money, and the cash in her pocket everynight is not bad either.

Personally, I think that since you spend so much time doing your job, you should like what you're doing rather than worrying about whether you are justifying your education.

Expectations? Be careful of those...they go both ways.
 
If she's working at a hot bar, she may be making more then should could working in an office, and according to reports, people are drinking more now then they did when the economy was better. She may prefer the late hours (which she couldn't do if she was working in an office) and she may be able to be a little more individual in her attire. If she's a people person, she might really enjoy bartending. A LOT of us get degrees and find we really don't want to work in that field. She's working; you ought to be grateful for that (both of my brothers' wives, although both had degrees, stopped working as soon as they were married).

and what she went to college for may be boring to her now...

I have several degrees and do not want to work in any of them!
 
It depends on the situation...

If you guys are living paycheck to paycheck when you could have a more comfortable lifestyle, then yes. If you are the one who paid for her education, OF COURSE!! If it bothers you that she works until 3 am and her type of work, then maybe you should talk to her about it.

Also take into consideration that many people who graduate end up hating what they earned their degree in. If this is the case, maybe she could continue working as a bartender and go back to school to study something she actually enjoys. It's really her decision though.
