Should I exercise tonight?? even though my muscles are sore??????

I did too much squats yesterday and my quads are KILLING me. every time I get up, flex, or even touch them..They hurt.
But I don't mind sucking it up and doing maybe 10-15 minutes on the elliptical tonight..
would that be alright? or should I take a break on exercise for tonight and do it tomorrow night (if my legs aren't still hurting)
would it be harmful to exercise while my legs are really sore?
 
If its sore it means that its getting stronger, but usually its better not to do, or you can work out in other areas that you havent worked out yet
