Should I exercise after I have pulled a muscle in my back?

I've pulled a muscle in the side of my back from playing netball on the weekend. It didn't hurt straight away, once I cooled down I could feel it.
I generally go to the gym a few times a week but am worried working out might aggravate the muscle more?
I am playing netball again on Saturday and want to be in the best shape for it. Should I do some light back stretches or will that hurt the muscle more?
