Should I drop one of my business clients because he is racist?

I have a strictly professional, business relationship with an older man in my line of work that I deal with about two times a month. The longer I know this guy, the more obnoxious things I learn about him. He just revealed to me recently that he is racist against at least one ethnic group in our society. I was shocked and appalled by his statement and didn't know what to say at that moment. I'm considering no longer doing business with this man, but it will affect my business and me financially. I don't know if I can afford to lose his business, but at the same time I can hardly stand the sight of the guy anymore!! Should I drop him out of principal or keep him for the time being until business is better and I can afford to drop him?

You sound like a naive person, but since you are a business
person, i don't believe you are that naive.
Probably you don't understand human behavior ?
I know some isn't right, but i am not certain what.

Hello,

Personal differences, emotions and likes or dislikes have no place when it comes to business. Carry on, treat him accordingly as a good client but you can always keep him at a descreet distance with your personal life.

Cheers,

Michael Kelly
