I need to do a recognised Masters in Art therapy course to become a qualified/registered art therapist. But you have to pay for the fees and support yourself over the 2/3 years. Whereas the Phd would not leave me registered on the British association of Art therapists (as the Masters does) however the fees are paid for and I would get a grant to support myself over the 3 years. (p.s I do not have the money for a masters as I am currently doing one at the moment and have spent all my savings on it!)
Should I do a funded Phd even though it won't leave me qualified for my desired career?
