Should I complain when a restaurant employee wouldn't take my take-out order?

On Sunday I contacted a restaurant at 8:20 PM to order one appetizer that the restaurant specializes in. The employee I talked to told me that the restaurant closes in 40 minutes and would not accept my order, even though whenever I order it is ready in 10 minutes. She responded by telling me that "We are all out of food". Should I complain or is this acceptable?
