Should I complain to my boss about confidential information about me being...

...discussed on the workroom floor? I was recently recommended by my Company Director ( top boss) to go to EAP. That is the Employee Assistance Program. He was very nice and kind about it. He only recommenced that I go cause he thought they might be able to help me with a personal issue that could eventually lead to me losing my employment. I agreed and he set the first appointment up for me. I told none of my coworkers that I was going. My boss was sending me on the clock so I had to tell my immediate supervisor that I was going to a work related appointment to get the 2 hours off . I did not mention that it was EAP I was going to. This immediate supervisor is a really a regular worker that is in a "lead" position.
Anyhow , I attended the appointment. Well yesterday I was approached by a coworker and he said that "He was worried about me" He then explained that he had over heard a conversation among my coworkers saying that I was being given a ultimatum regarding my job and that I might be fired. I asked this coworker ( a supposed friend to tell me more about what was said and who said it ) He dummied up and said he didn't want to get involved. I called him at home a few hours later and asked him again to tell me more. I explained to him that what they were talking about was confidential and untrue because there was no ultimatum given. It turns out that he was involved in the conversation. I told him I no longer considered him a friend but a hurtful person for even approaching me with something like this.
Anyhow should I speak to the Company Director or would you let this go? I tend to think I should let it go. I don't want to appear petty and bring more attention upon my situation. On the other hand I feel my coworkers and intimidate supervisor should not be allowed to gossip about a confidential situation.
I should add the main issue is that there is a portion of my job that I cannot perform due to a disability. I have been accommodated up until this point, to the dismay of my coworkers. The business needs have changed and I am at risk of losing my accommodation. I am trying to work out an equitable resolution with my employer and this is causing me great stress.
My coworkers seem to be delighted that accommodation may end there by forcing me out of my job.
 
If I was you I would not stir anything up if you want to keep your job. Just act like it did not happen and do what you can to improve your job performance.
 
your right it should not be allowed, but I would let it go myself if you want to stay where you are. HR can address the issue, but it happens in every company with or without their intervention. If your looking for another job and find one then escalate the issue, but don't make things harder on yourself right now by stirring it up. Good Luck!
