I will be a college freshmen in the 2010-2011 school year & the school of my dreams is Prairie View A&M University in Texas. But, the school is around $23,820 for the 09-10 school year (tuition, fees, room & board out-of-state). Ive been doing some estimates on financial aid and they are as follows: pell grant $5350, FSEOG-$4000, Perkins loan-$5500, federal subsidized & unsubsidized-$5500 & the ACG-$750. I'm pretty sure my EFC will be 0 so does that mean i will get the full amounts that can be offered? That so far only totals $21,100 in aid. Also, i plan on taking speech & composition 1 so that should knock off around $800-$900 hopefully. What else can i do to cover the price gap? People say starting at a community college can help but i dont want to have 2 graduations (associates & bachelors) & im just so in love with PVAMU, thats where i want to spend my college years & it has everything i want and more in a college. Also, how does a federal work study program work? Anybody who is knowledgeable in the college financial aid process feel free to email me. Thanks!
