Should I choose a career in Physics or Political Sciences...?

PHYSICS. Stick with the sciences. There are not very many jobs out there for poly sci majors despite what a career counselor will tell you. I have quite a few friends (including my brother) with a poly sci degree and it seems the only two career choices are the military and waiter/waitress. If you have a physics degree, I can point you to numerous companies that will give you a job on the spot (including the company I work for) with a starting salary of 75-90k.

(1) You can go into physics and possibly do something good for mankind, but get pair at a normal level of the United States, which is about $48,000 a year.

(2) You can go into political science and to absolutely nothing good for mankind, but at least potentially make many more dollars.

So, when you die, do you want to know that you made the world better, or do you want to know that you made more money than people who made the world better?
