Scheduled Maintenance Guide is just that a guide to when thing should be done and really truth is doesnt have to be ever done ive had car with 400,000 miles and no transmission fluid change and normal driving mean just that you drive speed limits dont drive it like a race car dont two heavy loads car transmission should last 20 yrs or 300,000 miles most places that tel you it need it cause they want money to do it if your planing on keeping car 20 yrs sure repalce fluid when it reaches 100,000 or if you cant see any red color to fluid any more most cars dont need it any time but once yo ustart replacing it you must keep replacing it my self wouldnt been working on car most of my life over 40 yrs ive never done any of my cars and i drive them like race cars real hard on my cars still like my car now has over 300,000 ive had it for 6yrs never had it done yet

I have a 2007 S it has about 50,000 miles on it. I've never changed the transmission fluid. I was thinking about doing it, but I noticed that it says no need to change under normal driving conditions on the little orange dipstick. I also looked it up under the users manual and it says that it only needs to be changed if you fall under the Special Operating Conditions listed in the Scheduled Maintenance Guide. Basically I'm really confused.

Most manufacturer's suggest that you change your permanent ATF at the 100,000 mile mark at the same time you install a transmission filter if your Carolla has one.

Its really no need to change the transmission fluid. Regular driving conditions u should be good, all though the car has been driven pretty good with the amount of miles. In my opinion u should be ok, toyota last a really long time if u take care of them.
