Should i buy this 1984 Dodge Rampage?

hello, i have been surfing craigslist for my first car for a while now. i want a el camino, nova, dart...older muscle car. i found a 1984 dodge rampage yesterday! they said 500 obo. heres the listing ---
4 cylinder engine. Has some new parts: starter, windshield, tires, brakes. Receipts for all parts. Runs but needs some carburator work. $500 OBO.
driver side front fender is damaged after hitting cement block, rear pasenger side of tailgate is damaged as well as the tail light. driverside front end where bottom blinker sits is broken. clear title, runs but needs carb work and battery charged. maybe the vacuum lines.
ok, im looking for a rare older car that i can work on and drive to. they want 500 but i think no more than 100$, should i even offer less? i found rampages from 600$-4000$ being incredably mint and accessoriezed.
4spd, auto, 35mpg.

ps: how many were made? i saw 3000?, what carb did it have in 84'? whats the next step up if i were to replace it? also when trping in to find a turbo charger, how would i word it? turbo charger for??

Personally, I would buy it. Not only because it's a Mopar. But Dodge Rampages are fairly rare. Especially in the northern part of the country where the climate got the best of them in a few years. I have only seen one in my area. Rampages where notorious for rusting right out from under you. But as simple as they may be. Its is a unique vehicle thanks to it's cheapness in manufacturing. 500 dollars is not a bad price. But if it has started it's rusting process. You must also look at the time and money you must spend to stop the rust. And believe me. I live in Ohio where road salt is plentiful. Stopping rust is a challange.

It sounds like you're already hesitating. If you've seen the same kind of car, in better condition, for cheaper, be honest with the person who's selling this one and tell him that. If they won't bend, don't buy it. =D Maybe print a few off of Craig's list and say "See, you're selling it for a bit much." and see if you can make a deal.
You saw Carburator work, but you don't say how severe that problem could become... I'm not really sure, but make sure it doesn't have any problems that may shorten it's lifespan.
Whatever you get, maintenance is key.Keep your fluids topped off and change the oil every 3,000 - 4,000 miles and it will last you YEARS longer. =D

without being able to see this one in person i would be real leary of buying it,those rusted out around the uni-frame area and it caused some problems when trying to restore them,they are collectible cars,just kind of hard to find parts for right now,i think in reality they made more of those than are listed,and the carb they came with was holley.and they ran really good ,not much on power but excellent vehicles to save gas with,i wouldn't offer them no where asking price though because if they got it priced that cheap there's more wrong with than their saying,good luck.
