Currently, I have a 2008 Subaru Outback with about 21,000 miles on it. Today, I was offered a 2008 Ford Explorer (35,000 miles) as a clean trade-in with no money in between from a Ford dealership. I have to say that I do want a "real" SUV, but I'm unsure. I know the Subie is a reliable partner, but I don't know that much about the Ford.
Also, I am worried about re-selling the Ford later. I live in WA, and I know that Subaru's are highly appreciated around here. But Fords? The guys at the dealership said they could give me about $18,000 for the Outback, which I was expecting. However, the Explorer they are offering is priced at $22,000 so I can't help but think this is a good deal.
