Should I buy pontiac or honda?

Im 17 getting a car soon and im stuck on what to get. I am in love with the 2 door pontiac G5's and wanna put some cool things on it like rims etc. However im somewhat educated with cars and know that GM has poor parts to their cars and always have engine problems, no? The G5's are cheap i know like 17000 canadian for 2010 brand new! but than the new 2 door civics are way better cars ive been told but maybe more expensive but better quality and will last forever? now im stuck however the i dont like the look of the new 2 door honda's. Are the hondas alot more? what should i do? thanks
 
Pontiac is out of business. It will be hard to get parts in the future. Any reliable car other than the recently defunct brands should be your preference.
 
the honda is better on gas than the pontiac honda is way better i know from personal experience, i own one they dont have any problems to my knowledge and are great with the gas.. those pontiacs have crappy parts....
