Should I buy an HTC Desire on April 1st,or wait for the new iphone to come out

and then choose? I am an Apple Fan,I love apple,I have a macintosh computer but I saw the HTC desire and i was wondering if i should wait for the iphone 4g and the htc desire to come out then choose,or just buy the htc desire as soon as it comes out.(I need a phone urgently)
