Should I buy a new car or fix the one I have?

you can fix it for less then buying a new one those are just Wear and tear parts it time to fix them any way it's still a young car buying a new one only prolongs the fact so when u pay for the new one they well need to fixed on it too
 
I am almost done paying my 6yr loan on my 2003 Neon, it has recently began to give me a few problems, like suspension, motor mounts, timing belt, bushings and a few others. I have yet to get a Second opinion but will. Before I do I was wondering is it worth putting all this money into my car? it has 117,000 miles, I have always kept up with tune ups and oil changes and this is the first time the car has giving any major problems. I just am afraid of paying so much to fix it and it just dies or something. So I don't know should I keep it , fix it, and pay the balance, or just get another car? I have always wanted to be car payment free for awhile but don't want to be stuck with a car i cant trade in later. Im so confused.... some advise from strangers is helpful at times.... thanks guys~

Whats the total to get it fixed? 117K is a lot of miles on a four banger Dodge, but then again it may last 200K. If it were less then 1200 bucks I might fix it, but any more I may consider a new car.
 
The items you mention are considered wear items, not problems because they are designed to need replaced after 117,000 miles, some earlier. If you have kept up on the maintenance items like oil changes etc, you should get several more years out of it. Anyway it is not worth much as a trade, so unless you get a great deal, I would keep it.
