should i buy a fender, yamaha or taylor acoustic/electric?

i was looking online at a fender acoustic/electric laminated top guitar w/ a cutaway, and i decided to go to a local guitar shop to see if they had something like what i was looking for. the guy there told me a yamaha was a much better deal. he mentioned it had a better sound since it was a solid top. he also said they have a shipment coming in monday of acoustic/electric yamaha guitars w/ cutaways. though the yamahas are a tad out of my price-range, they still have an amazing deep sound i love. while i was there he showed me an acoustic/electric taylor with a cutaway. he mentioned that a lot of great guitarists play taylors, and that theyre GREAT guitars. after playing one, i really like the shape and sound, though theyre way of my price range. im really looking for a guitar ill have for a LONG time, at least til im out of college. i dont want to have to buy another within the next 10-15 years. i can either buy the fender of yamaha now, or i can wait til christmas for the taylor. i wouldnt mind the wait, i just want a good guitar. please let me know your opinion.
