Should I Buy a Bose Aviation X Headset?

im a student pilot just beginning my flight training and was told i should consider buying my own headset. I found someone selling four brand new pairs of Bose Aviation X's for $800, but said he would sell me one for $600. Should I buy them? i also would have to purchase an adapter for a two prong plug ($90) thanks.
