I currently own a 2002 Chrysler Sebring LXi with 80K which is taking a crap (no suprise), and I'm looking at over 2 grand in repairs just to make it safe to drive. Today I found a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport (2 door / 4 wheel drive). It has 114,000 miles on it, but it's in pretty good shape and they only want 4500 for it. I've never owned a truck before and I know nothing about them... Is this a good deal?

It is a good deal for an Explorer that year and miles. I know of several Explorers with over 200,000 miles and one with 300,000k. If it has been well cared for it should have many miles left before it dies. You don't say what is wrong with your Chrysler but with only 80,000 miles it shouldn't have any major problems yet. Check to learn if your state has any implied warranty laws that might work in your favor.

well you need to test drive it and see if anything is wrong with it before you even think about buying anything only thing you will notice is you will pay more for fuel tires will last a bit longer and they are top heavy thats about it
