greetings.
there is a window in my house that is 2' x2', and it is literally half above ground, half below ground. i think it was an old coal shoot (the house is 105 years old). there is no well and the soil is flush up against the window.
during long hard rains, water seeps in through the foundation below the window, at an alarming rate. the foundation is made of some aggregate blend.
i am unsure if i should try to divert the water away from the area above ground, or build a well by digging out the window and installing a liner/gravel, or both.
the house next door is 3-4 feet from my house, and their eaves troughs are not very efficient, so i am deqaling with diverting their drainage as well - and no, i am not comfy asking them to install new eaves troughs, at least not until i've exhausted all other options.
thanks for any thoughts.
