Should I brush up on Spanish or learn a new language? (Korean)?

I know how to speak and read in spanish but my writing is elementary at best. Im starting college and im wondering if It would be best to just start with a new language or excel in my spanish. BTW im latino. My parents are spanish speakers only. I like the new language option, but I would just like some opinions from random strangers. I think is somewhat unnecessary to learn french,Italian german, etc. Those common European languages (except spanish) here in california.

You're right on the money, my friend! I'm in Texas, and i can tell you here, Spanish is king. I have a job as a Spanish tutor and I get more hours than any of the other languages. I would say if you are fluent in speaking and good at reading, I would start a new language. No one is going to give you a Spanish test unless you are a Spanish teacher or translator (text, not interpreting) or something. I say you just go with the other language and I love that you are thinking Eastern languages. Western languages are being done to death. I'm learning Spanish and Chinese at the moment and I don't regret any decisions. English Spanish and Chinese are the top three languages followed by Hindi and Arabic. You will do much better on what you are interested in learning than in something you aren't.

Best of luck!
