Here is the thing: I have been playing my trumpet since I was in 4th grade (I'm now 18). It was the only thing I was ever good at, really.
However, even being involved in music that long, I am still unable to do a lot of things - like tune by ear and play music by ear.. and I feel like without that, I am lacking something very important.
I'm afraid that that could never be learned. I would really love to be a band teacher to high schoolers but I'm afraid that in college everyone else will have what I do not. What should I do?
