Should I be taking Progesterone? Should I get a blood test?

I had an IUI on 6/9 and 6/10. It was my first cycle of Clomid CD3-7. I also had an HCG shot. Tomorrow would be CD21. My Dr. said nothing about progesterone. I keep reading there is no way to confirm ovulation without a blood test. Should I be asking for one? I am 26 and I really want this to work. I am thin, healthy, etc. and I just was not ovulating. I had 3 mature follicles during my ultrasound on 6/8.

You could ask for one. It would be beneficial for you to know if the dosage of Clomid worked for you...because why would you want to do IUI and trigger shots if the clomid dosage wasn't enough to make you ovulate? A progesterone level over 15 is considered successful, if I remember what my doc said from my clomid days.

My doc said the progesterone suppositories or pills have no proof that they help sustain a pregnancy. He said they want to increase progesterone levels by using clomid (which helps you ovulate AND increases progesterone after ovulation), but, "since I worry alot, and it hasn't shown to HURT...they'd prescribe the progesterone". I guess it couldn't hurt...but I'd wait to see what your blood test tomorrow shows. If you do the progesterone, you are supposed to start taking them about 2 days after the IUI.
