Should i be a history major?

I'm tired of denying the passions of my heart for the logic of my head. Everything (and one) tells me I shouldn't major in history. They say it will lead to nothing, and I know the scope of jobs for a history major are very few. I don't want to become a lawyer, which is a fairly logical path, and I hate the pressure of writing papers (though I love the feeling of accomplishment once one is completed). I always feel stressed to my limit when I'm taking a difficult history class, but I love every minute of it. Should I do the unwise thing and major in history, or just major in something more lucrative that I'm likely more qualified for?

If it is what you are passionate about, then do it, but make sure you have a back up plan. Maybe you could double major in a career-related field of study along with your history major. Just be prepared not to make a lot of money with just a history degree.
