should i barter with ford dealer ?

thinking of buying 08 ford focus that was in an accident and had repairs of 6500. dealer is asking 8900. i asked for couple of hundred dollars off and was told no because they had originally asked 10,500 then lowered price to 9500 , so 8900 was the lowest they could go.
 
With the history, I would question the buying the car. That's a lot damage.

As for the price, the dealer is playing hard ball. The used car market is flooded, but a fuel efficient small car is in demand so the dealer is trying to make money. I would offer 8200 and then walk if they say no. There are a lot of dealers out there. Check out a site like cars.com, and you'll find a source.
