Should I ask for the puppy back? Been left outside all by it's self for the past four...

...days ? My dog got pregnant after digging out of my yard. She's a purebred dog with AKC papers and all so she's healthy and I have breeding rights. But my plan was to breed her with a health tested,AKC papered sire in about a year or two. So much for that idea. She dug out and God only knows the dog that got her pregnant for sure. There's lots of dogs running around where I live because there is no leash law and people just set their dogs free.

Okay on to the real question. She gave birth to 8 puppies all of whom survived and are doing well. They're old enough for me to re-home(except for the runt---but I doubt I'll be re-homing her) now and one of my close friends asked for one. She picked out the biggest of the pups. I made sure the puppy was up to date on shots, worming and everything else that's important. I wrote out a contract which she signed stating that the puppy HAS to be neutered,no exceptions. She agreed whole heartedly. I automatically thought the puppy was going to be a house dog, especially because of the cold weather. Well,it's warmed up and I went to visit the puppy who's been in her home for about a week and a half. When I got there the puppy was whimpering/crying at her back door. I asked her why the puppy was outside and she said because it's warm. I asked her how long he's been out there and she said "oh about four days straight but I go out there and play with him and pet him". She got mad when I suggested she bring the puppy in and then asked me to leave but before that she told me that if I had an issue with the way she was raising him,I should take him back and return her $50.

I know almost all pet parents do things differently and I wouldn't have an issue with him being outside sometimes but living outside 24/7 just bothers me for any aged dog, especially a puppy. And it hurt me to watch him whimper, whine and scratch at the door. He wanted to be with her so bad but she just ignored him. Do you think I should return her money and take the puppy back? He's the first and only puppy I've re-homed and I don't know what I should do,let her raise him however she pleases or find a better home for him. He's used to being inside, around his mom, siblings and me,not outside alone.

***Best guess by my vet is that the pups are half black lab(my dog) & pitbull from the way they look. The pups are 10 weeks old now.

And my second question is,should I keep the puppies and work on house training and obedience training before I find new homes for them? I'm not in this for the money,I just want the puppies to have good lives and go to good families.
To add I'm only going to breed the mom again once, then I'm having her spayed. After this incident,I don't want anymore accidents. I've also invested in better fencing to keep her in and other dogs out.
