Should I allow my son take a mentally handicapped girl to the high school dance?

She is completely normal but, for a 5y/o, she is cute, funny, fun and refreshing my son says. Fortunately, my son has honorable intentions. He volunteers at the the hospital, he plays the piano there. My son has plenty or other girls that would love to go to the dance with, but he wants her. What should I do?
