Weve been together 4.5 years. He promised once a few years ago to propose to me before my next birthday, that never came through. Then this last year, he promised again, to propose to me before my next birthday, and I waited and waited, thinking surely he cant break that promise again, because he had bought me a ring in february of this year, but had not given it to me yet, but he never came through this time either. I told him I was leaving him, and I packed up my suitcase and left for work. I forgot a few vital things and told him I had to come home to get them and go stay with a friend. We talked a while and he then proposed. I said, I cant accept that, not under these circumstances, I was very heartbroken and confused to say the least, and told him to ask me again in a week when we both had more clear minds. It has been over a month now and he hasnt asked again.
I feel like I should move on but Im afraid at the same time. He treats me very good and I dont want to be treated bad. We have had out problems of course, but over the years we have worked it out for the better. But does that matter when I feel like he is so undecided about me? That takes away much of my feelings for him, because I used to know he was the one, and now he does not seem to know that I'm the one, and I cant live that way.
