Should he change over to business?

He is 38+. Well educated, intelligent and ambitious. Went in for a good job in a remote area after graduation, left the job after three years to join a lesser job in a well connected place. Again left the job after three years to start a self employed unit (a small enterprise). The company was not viable, wound up after three years. Got training in a new technique and got employed in a multi national company on handsome package. Left it after three years to join a better multi national on better package. This is again third year and he is fed up, feels stagnated particularly because some of his junior colleagues have outdone him due to their better communication skill. He can not find a financially better job either. Wants to start a business again with a novel idea, success of which can take him to great height financially but its flop will send him years back, can demoralise to a point of no return when he would have already crossed 40 with a family to support. Right now the family members including elders reluctantly pretend to support him for his proposed venture, but deep inside wish he should drop the idea. Any suggestion please.
