I'm thinking of eliminating dry mix from my guinea pigs' diet. As i've heard the pellets and sunflower seeds aren't good for them. I thought i'd replace it with wheat bix. Is this a good idea? :-S
No, bad idea. Guinea pig food is formulated especially for guinea pigs, and contains all the nutrients that guinea pigs need, including extra protein, vitamin C and fibre. These are essential to guinea pigs, and wheat bix does not contain these.
alfalfa is to much of a treat, give him a balanced diet of Timothy hay, rom. lettuce and pellets formulated for guinea's at a pets store but the mix may not be a good idea so give him a nice clean balanced diet.
