Harley davidison and ford aren't just known to be tough it is Durability also, i have a ranger with over a 1/4 million miles on it and runs great, and still gets 26 miles per gallon.
look at this forum and it will show you how ranger fans put a v8 in them

I would be happy if they would concentrate on building a truck that would get 50mpg, that I could work on with regular tools and wouldn't cost more than what my 1st house did. Did I mention that they need to throw in a dozen grease fittings so that I can lube the ball joints and u-joints regularly?

People that buy the Harley trucks buy them so that they own a big "tough" truck, most of the time to go with their "tough" bikes. A Ford Ranger Harley would sell as good as a Prius Harley edition.

Besides it looking ridiculous, I can't imagine there being much market for it.
I think they whole idea around the Harley Davidson edition is based on performance.
How are you going to put anything bigger than a V6 in a Ranger?
