Should everyone in America be required to get at least a High School education?

Should parents be fined if they fail and their kids don't graduate?
Parents are responsible for their children up until they are 18 years old. Parents who fail should be held accountable. Not a single "Good Parent" throughout the history of time has had a child who failed.

Why punish the parents for the kids' failure? Their parents can do everything to prevent it, but you can't force a kid to stay in school or pass a class if they really don't want to.

Sounds like government indoctrination to me. I'm for education, but not for government programming and oppression.
