Should cities be able to create their own gun laws?

I know that the SupCourt ruled that they cannot because of the 2nd amendment. But, regardless, do you think this would be fair?

Absolutely not. The Left cannot claim the 14th Amendment's Equal Protection clause extends prohibitions on federal power to the states in some instances and not in others.

States yes, cities no. It's bad enough trying to keep track of all the differences as it is.

And by gun laws I mean all the little details like licensing and registration. Not bans or anything that violates federal law.

Sounds like a States Rights issue in a roundabout way.

It is ostensibly legal to build a 30 ft tall building on property that you own but in a city it must meet a specified code. So how are these issues different.

I support people beinga able to protect themselves in all places but legally I am not sure how this is explained away.

No there is only one legal gun law and that is the second amendment. The rights of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. No one has any right to limit or abolish gun rights in America.
