...organised gardening plots? So we can get on with it properly
I just told my friends child I didn't need his help when he asked my excuse was basically because I am not that organised and make it up as I go along, but MY WAY I surely could not tell him what to do if I didn't know myself until the last minute it is looking neat and I am still making decisions, he would have been a distraction.

But now I am regretting it he could have made a cup of tea I am knackered already...........Oh bother him! He won't even do that I just remembered from another occasion.

What other uses do you have for them?

Do they work on your garden properly or trash it?

If you enjoyed being with children, you might enjoy gardening with them. It doesn't sound like you particularly do, and it's not your own children, so I wouldn't feel guilty about not having them help. I'm not sure this is really a gardening question though.

it depends on the child and their age. i can remember being 5 and helping pick beans and cukes in my grandmothers garden.
she'd pick the right length bean and tell me fo match the ones i pick to it. same with cukes.

i worked my parents garden as a youth and teen as well.

a parent should at least try to let their child participate since it's a great way to build memories, keep kids active, instill responsibility and so much more!
