Should Chevrolet be spun off as a seperate brand from GM?

Chevrolet has enjoyed the most success, and it would be a shame to see this American icon disappear. Also, Cadillac seems to be enjoying some renewed sales. Should they be split off also? Both lines have won a few awards lately for their autos. Do you think they could survive without GM?
 
If GM goes bankrupt, it'll be reorganization and not liquidation. Chevy ain't going nowhere.

I think it would be best if we just hired a backhoe, dug a hole in the ground and laid GM in the grave. That way maybe we could be rid of the stench they are creating in the US taxpayers nostrils.
